About the Owner
Hi, I’m Jean (pronounced “Jon”), the proud owner of SnackTex. I was born in Brazil and raised in the U.S. I studied International Studies and Portuguese at UNC Chapel Hill and earned an M.A. in International Policy Studies from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. My early career path included internships with the U.S. State Department in Lisbon and Brasília, and I later spent 16 years at Google, where I led a team of Legal Specialists.
When I’m not managing my business, I love spending time with my 6-year-old son. I also enjoy running, playing chess, and travelling. In fact, it could be said that SnackTex was partly inspired by my two trips to Japan, where vending machines are everywhere and often stocked with unique items like cakes in a cup. Interestingly, despite being a technologically advanced country, all the machines I encountered only accepted cash. Don’t worry — at SnackTex we offer machines that accept cards and hybrid forms of payment.
I’ve been calling the Austin metro home for the last 9 years, and I look forward to continuing to grow my business here for many more years to come. Feel free to reach out — I’d love to help with your vending needs!
